Job Description
PCG is seeking an experienced Field Training Specialist for its corporate operations based in California. Their primary objective is to provide development and learning opportunities to all field operational staff based on their experience in construction operations and, ideally, credible PCI knowledge. This role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of instructor-led, virtual, and one-on-one training for operations and creating training resources to meet the needs of the organization. Other essential functions include:
Work closely with operations to identify and gather training and development needs and solutions where needed
Assess business situations and develop goals and training/development strategies to improve business results and performance
Responsible for the content development of formal training workshops and job aids
Effectively deliver training to ensure participants are engaged and are motivated to master and apply learning on the job
Manage & maintain a current list of all applicable field employees by branch and job duty; responsible for partnering with management to provide developmental opportunities for employees & ensure training progression
Partner with individuals and key leadership stakeholders to assist and advise on the execution of company policies and procedures
Act as a liaison between corporate departments and branches to ensure validity and efficiency of training materials. Responsible for working with both groups to meet the needs of training tools.
Coach and mentor employees regarding personal or career development
Provide insight into branch succession and leadership development conversations
Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
Experience as a Foreman or General Foremen for a construction company for at least 5 years and 10 years of industry experience
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and using the Internet is required
Minimum Requirements (Essential Function/Behavioral Based):
Willing to travel 50-60%
Effective communicator with strong verbal, analytical, and decision-making skills
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and possess excellent time management, proofing, and communication (oral and written) skills
Strong organizational and time management skills; proven ability to plan and manage multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to speak in front of an audience and facilitate training workshops with high energy and approachability
Demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate and consult with senior leaders, business partners, internal customers, and colleagues
Preferred Requirements (Technical Based/“Plus” Qualifications)
Five years of experience in training or development is preferred
Working knowledge of learning management systems preferred
Experience writing training and/or event communications a plus
Experience with job-site technology – Procore, Bluebeam, BIM, Labor Chart, iAuditor, Mobility, and/or Labor management systems preferred
