Job Description
PCI is seeking an experienced Surface Preparation and Painting (009-32) Estimator for its San Diego 108 operations based in San Diego, CA. These operations focus on coatings systems for the shipbuilding industry. This individual will estimate coatings projects on US Naval, MSC and/or Commercial vessels in the San Diego area.

Read blueprints and specifications to identify work scope on potential projects
Display and employ knowledge of the marine industry and NAVSEA standards
Work with production to establish realistic productivity rates
Develop good working relationships with MSRs/ABRs in the San Diego market
Perform other related assigned duties
This is an Salary position that pays between $83,900-$105,000 based on experience, with full benefits package listed below.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

Displays knowledge of blasting and coating requirements (009-32)
Ability to communicate effectively with production team, owners, and paint representatives
Must possess basic computer skills
Demonstrates accurate and reliable recordkeeping abilities
A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings
Showcases strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
Great customer service skills
Demonstrates ability to think creatively and critically to solve problems
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
General knowledge of trade tools, equipment and materials used in the construction industry
Preferred Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience estimating marine coatings
Experience in marine construction industry preferred
