Job Description
Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator for its San Diego 108 operations based in San Diego, CA. These operations prioritze insulation and coatings systems for the shipbuilding industry. This individual will schedule and execute call outs with customers and the U.S. Navy, answer CARs, and be responsible for the following:
Read blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards
Display and employ knowledge of the marine industry and NAVSEA standards
Inspect and test materials and services provided by the company
Use quality assurance equipment to ensure that surface preparation and coatings meet required specifications
Accept or reject finished products and services, and discuss inspection results with production team
Perform inspections as directed to assess service quality and compliance with specifications
Inspect and mark up coating defects
Coordinate daily inspection planning
Answer and respond to CARs
Perform other related assigned duties
This is an hourly position that pays between $30-40/hour based on experience, with full benefits package listed below.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or similar
Must have ability to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential for access to federally controlled worksites
Minimum Requirements:
Displays knowledge of blasting and coating requirements
Familiar with testing/inspection equipment, including DFT gauges, profile gauges, environmental readings, etc.
Ability to communicate effectively with production team, owners, and paint representatives
Must possess basic computer skills
Demonstrates accurate and reliable recordkeeping abilities
A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings
Showcases strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
Great customer service skills
Demonstrates ability to think creatively and critically to solve problems
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
General knowledge of trade tools, equipment and materials used in the construction industry
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum NBPI certification, or equivalent, is a plus
Experience in commercial construction industry preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Excel, Word, etc)
Local to San Diego metropolitan area
