Job Description Summary:

Seeking an experienced Safety Manager with strong working knowledge in cast in place concrete construction practices for various core and shell, ground -up projects. Individual will be serving the Swinerton SoCal and Hawaii Regions. Candidate should be experienced in all phases of the concrete construction process including the installation and removal of site fabricated and pre-engineered formwork, decking systems and concrete placement. Candidate will lead safety for our concrete teams and assist our divisional and site level safety professionals in conducting and utilizing hazard assessments to ensure all appropriate industry best practices and hazard controls are fully implemented throughout the construction process.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Coordinate hiring, orientation, and training of Division Safety Managers for assigned region
• Assist Operations to review annual Division Safety goals to be included in annual Regional and Division safety business plans
• Assist Operations to review annual budget intended to support Division Safety goals and assist Regional Manager to support any annual budgeting done at a Regional level
• Coordinate and schedule regular training for the assigned region on Safety, Health and Environmental topics
• Assist Senior, Area, and Division Safety Managers identify, develop, and deploy Safety Resources efficiently within their Region (DSP’s and Site Specific Safety Managers)
• Coordinate and manage relationships with OSHA and other regulatory agencies for their region
• Coordinate effective emergency response and crisis management within their region
• Provide updated information on changing Safety, Health and Environmental regulations
• Maintain professional designations by attending CEU classes
• Assist Senior, Area and Division Safety Managers to set goals for professional growth
• Support Division Operations with assistance in training, discipline, and meeting Safety goals
• Coordinate any Division Safety Discipline issues with Human Resources
• Effectively communicate Division Safety Program progress to Regional Operations and Corporate Safety Director
• Assure proper analysis of Safety events or issues and coordinate development of properly written Safety Guidance Documents
• With advice and consent of Operations and Corporate Safety Director, coordinate Safety, Health and Environmental Resources within assigned region
• Assist Division Safety Manager coordinate and/or conduct a Root Cause Analysis as needed
• Assist in First Aid response and negotiating Return-to-Work status for injured workers
• Assist Operations with resolving any subcontractor Safety, Health or Environmental issues within their region
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum BA/BS in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent experience required
• Recognized credential such as CSP, ASP, CHST, CIH or acceptable work history, experience, and education
• 7 -10 years of experience in construction safety, health and environmental field
• Trainer certifications such as OSHA Outreach Trainer, or safety task-specific, Competent Person training as required by the division or project level
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA construction regulations and general industry regulations
• Ability to evaluate construction work activities with respect to safety and loss control
• Ability to recognize and analyze company safety trends, and develop and adjust safety controls to address root causes
• Effective communication and training skills
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills
• Demonstrate computer knowledge (Microsoft Word/Power Point/Excel/Windows); familiarity with CMiC and BIM 360 Field software environments preferred
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
