We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join our construction company. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of construction materials, tools, and equipment to various job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Materials: Transport construction materials, tools, and equipment from the warehouse to job sites efficiently and safely.
Load and Unload: Assist in loading and unloading materials onto and off the delivery vehicle, ensuring that items are properly secured and protected during transit.
Inspect Deliveries: Verify the accuracy of delivery orders before departing the warehouse and upon delivery at the job site.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe driving practices.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the delivery vehicle, including checking tire pressure, oil levels, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery logs, receipts, and vehicle maintenance records.
Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service when interacting with site managers and other personnel at job sites.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that may arise during deliveries, such as delays, incorrect orders, or equipment malfunctions.
Compliance: Follow company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information related to projects and deliveries.
Driving Skills: Must be able to drive a manual transmission (stick shift) vehicle and have experience driving a 25 ft flatbed truck.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience as a delivery driver, preferably within the construction or logistics industry.
Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL may be required for certain types of vehicles or loads.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 100 lbs.) and perform physically demanding tasks.
Knowledge: Familiarity with local roadways and job site locations. Understanding basic construction materials and tools is a plus.
Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Communication: Effective verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends as needed.
Work Environment:
The majority of work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
Frequent travel to job sites
Exposure to construction environments, including noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
