YOU
As a Production and Inventory Planning Manager, you are responsible for the operation of the production planning/scheduling, inventory control and Procurement functions. This includes managing and overseeing the Inventory Control team, providing leadership and direction. Drive the deployment of demand data and strategic initiatives to manage the flow of materials across the supply chain in order to maximize on-time delivery while minimizing on-hand inventory levels. You are also responsible for maintaining inventory levels and forecasting for company owned warehouses and off-site representative warehouses. Collaborate with sales and production to derive achievable supply and production plans. Actively monitor demand plus review availability and flow of material through planning, inventory, and production to identify and resolve supply and production bottlenecks. Develop, track, review and report on planning, purchasing, and inventory control related metrics which reflect performance at the department and branch level. Engage the team to leverage Lean tools to identify root cause, develop and execute plans to achieve target goals through continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Drive, coach & mentor Lean Supply Chain Methodology throughout Inventory Control, Procurement and Production Planning, right sizing inventory while maintaining fill rate, developing Kanban like processes within and outside of ERP systems to ensure even flow of materials and Work in Progress. (25%)
Lead, motivate and direct supervisors & employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. (25%)
Collaborate with plant management team to meet goals and objectives. Lead your teams to create necessary schedules and reports that will advise production departments what they are required to manufacture. Furnish delivery dates and expedite production as necessary. Monitor inventory levels and backorders to react quickly and maintain service. (25%)
Manage inventory processes, demand planning and purchasing to maintain on time delivery for materials that are procured externally and manufactured in house. Acts as the central point of contact for inventory management issues; collaborating with inside sales, outside sales, purchasing, warehouse, and production to solve issues and perform root cause analysis. (25%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree preferred.
2 years experience in SAP or other comparable ERP system preferred.
5 years managing others required.
7 years supply chain experience required.
3 years Lean Manufacturing required.

Pay
$96,100 – $163,400 / year
