Description
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Constructability Coordinator consist of, but are not limited to, the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
1. Personnel
Log and route all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Direct, coordinate and provide technical guidance to CD staff on assigned projects.
Provide technical guidance and training to Operations staff in basic use of design tools, models and documentation for the purpose of field use during construction.
Support Technical Design Coordinators with constructability issues as needed.
2. Production
Manage project and production innovation files (hard copies & electronic).
Oversee and direct project modeling, drafting and coordination documents on a daily basis. Direct assigned production staff modeling, drafting, coordination and other tasks, based on skills and priorities. Coordinate production staff workload with Director, Construction Design.
Develop and manage project schedules for design and coordination activities and ensure they are in alignment with submittal, procurement and construction schedules. Report project progress and expected date of completion to Director, Construction Design.
Develop and manage project budgets for design and coordination activities. Report project progress and expected cost at completion to Director, Construction Design.
3. Project Coordination & Execution
Meet with General Contractors, Project Designers, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Building Officials, Inspectors, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen, as required, to identify, coordinate, resolve and document design issues.
Prepare, review and distribute project design coordination status, issues logs, and action plans.
Prepare and coordinate internal and external project design coordination communications.
Manage distribution of current project documentation.
Review and coordinate project design and coordination with Estimating.
Review scope and coordinate design documentation with consultants working with project team(s).
Facilitate and coordinate operations and field staff knowledge and use of Construction Design efforts and capabilities.
4. Project Coordination & Execution
Review all project modeling, drafting and coordination documents prior to release. Verify that documents conform to KHS&S standards and are accurate and complete.
Assist in developing and maintaining KHS&S Standards manual and associated processes.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or Architecture preferred.
Experience: Required 5 years’ experience in operations in the construction industry, at Project Superintendent level or above.
Skills: Ability to read and interpret drawings, including schematic and conceptual formats. Knowledge of materials, means and methods of construction. High attention to detail. Well-developed analytic and conceptual skills.
Physical: Includes sitting, standing, reaching, walking; use of hands, arms, legs, and feet. Must be able to see and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations.
Communication: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to communicate effectively and positively with customers and employees.
Computer: Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Beginning knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Bluebeam
