Production Operator

Summary:
To perform all tasks related to the production of fire proofing material in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions:

Complies with all plant safety and quality policies
Operates all production equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Performs all jobs related to production, including but not limited to the PIPS Operator, the Bagger, Line 2 Operator, Line 1 Operator, Raw Material Charger, Rover, and Forklift Driver
Maintains PIPS levels by continually feeding PIPS into the system
Continually maintains bag levels in the D-Stacker for Line 2
Monitors the automated bagging operation on Line 2 and adjusts as needed to ensure proper operation.
Periodically reviews the process trends in the control room and adjusts the process as appropriate
Responds appropriately to rejects and miss spouts for Line 2
Keeps all the raw material hoppers charged with material, for Line 1 or Line 2
Manually bags and palletizes finished product for Line 1
Reprocesses all rejects from Line 2
Takes finished product pallets and stores the material in the warehouse using a forklift
Brings over raw materials and chargers raw material hoppers using a forklift
Stretch wraps pallets as required.
Date and time stamps pallets of finished product for Line 1. Ensures that the time and date coder for Line 2 is functioning properly.
Performs daily housekeeping assignments
Completes the daily shift report
Participates in the daily safety huddles
Performs other more intensive housekeeping activities as required by management.
Assists in completing monthly EH&S inspections
Participates in the monthly safety committee meetings.
Assists in putting pallet covers on material as required.
Covers breaks for other employees to maintain proper plant operation
Other tasks and assignments as deemed necessary by management

Minimum Requirements:

Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English in order to effectively carry out the job tasks
5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
High School Diploma or accredited GED
Must possess a strong work ethic and safety attitude
Forklift experience/certification preferred
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Hours of Work:

Standard 10 hour shifts, 40 hours a week, or as directed by the Plant Manager
Must be willing to work overtime which may be 12 hour shifts, Fridays, and/or Saturdays.
Regular attendance is mandatory
